Education pathway

Learn emerging technology by building together

Academy works with people aged 16 and over in groups, connecting practical technology learning with projects that may grow into Anti-Venture Building work.

Academy connects learning with practical group work. Programme schedules, cohorts, safeguarding arrangements, and participation terms will be published only after they are approved.

Programme position

A pathway into Anti-Venture Building

Academy is a standalone programme and a related education pathway, not a sixth ecosystem pillar. Its longer-term goal is to help participants develop the knowledge, judgement, and collaborative experience needed to contribute to Anti-Venture Building.

An application is only an initial enquiry. It does not confirm admission, participation, membership, employment, funding, or a place on any committee. The team contacts applicants individually before any next step.

Who can apply

Age and participation boundaries

Applicants aged 16–17

People aged 16 or 17 may submit an initial enquiry, but a parent or guardian must approve participation before programme activity begins.

Applicants aged 18+

Adults may submit an initial enquiry directly. Selection and participation arrangements are still confirmed individually after review.

Membership

Formal membership or committee eligibility begins at 18. Taking part in Academy does not automatically create membership.

Initial pathway

What happens after an enquiry

  1. Submit the Academy application and verify control of the email address when submissions are enabled.
  2. The team reviews the enquiry and contacts suitable applicants individually.
  3. Participation details and, for applicants aged 16–17, guardian approval are completed before programme activity.
  4. Project work may later lead to an invitation to explore Anti-Venture Building, without guaranteeing membership or a commercial outcome.

Review the participation context first

Read the parent and guardian information if the applicant is 16 or 17, then use the Academy application for the initial enquiry.
